MORE MARKET INSIGHT
Look out for more regular updates on supply chain resilience and cargo loss trends in Russia and the CIS in future issues of Vigilant. TAPA EMEA has partnered with Ilya Smolentsev of Impact to increase our intelligence from the region and to grow our membership and certifications in these countries. We hope to establish similar partnerships with more local market experts.
COMING SOON…
Start thinking about our Incident Information Service (IIS) and how we can add even more value to it for our members. An update to this fantastic supply chain resilience tool is on our agenda for 2021 and, of course, we will be inviting your comments and ideas for improvements. More on this soon.
I VOTE REMOTE IF IT ACCELERATES OUR GROWTH
We have taken the decision to allow remote audits for FSR and TSR recertifications to support our members in EMEA. This will address the backlog caused by Covid-19 and the restrictions on auditors not being able to travel to, and enter, the operations of TAPA certified companies.
A FANTASTIC TEAM TO DRIVE US FORWARD
Welcome to the new members of our TAPA EMEA Advisory Board! What a fantastic team of people we have to help us achieve our goals over the next three years. I look forward to taking their advice and drawing on their great knowledge and experience as we plan to grow every area of our Association. I am proud that TAPA EMEA has this calibre of people in its membership that want to play a bigger and more active role in our future.
I am also absolutely delighted that we have been able to secure the services of Ap Boom and Markus Prinz to our full- time TAPA EMEA team. As you will all be aware, Ap and Markus have both enjoyed very successful terms on our Board of Directors, serving as Treasurer and Training Lead respectively. During this time, they have both made tremendous contributions to the growth of TAPA EMEA and the benefits we deliver to our members. Before, we were only able to call on a limited amount of their time because they were volunteers with busy and highly responsible day jobs. Now, they can focus all their time and skills solely on making our Association bigger and stronger for our members. It’s great to have them onboard!
This makes perfect sense and will undoubtedly lead us to consider more remote solutions in other areas of our work. The effectiveness of remote working is one of the big lessons of Covid, and it has changed a lot of mindsets about the way to get things done and the efficiencies which can be achieved along the way. We have already achieved great success with our online FSR and TSR training and the response from everyone is that they want this to continue and grow. Making training more accessible to a wider online audience is also encouraging more companies to go for TAPA Standards certifications. Remote working and remote learning are a win/win for all concerned so let’s see how far we can take it. It has my vote!
A GREAT START TO 2021
2020 was a very successful year for TAPA EMEA, with record growth in so many areas of our work, not least our ability to attract over 100 new member companies. So, we have a hard act to follow in 2021 – but welcome and accept this challenge. I am delighted to say we’ve made a great start to the year in terms of membership and welcome 12 new members in this January issue. More – many more – will follow.
Do you want to connect me with a company you’d like to see join the TAPA Family? I will personally contact every lead you give me. Send them over.
HOW’S IT GOING?
Brexit is only a month old and everyone expected teething problems. In our next issue, we will be asking several members to tell us about their experiences so far and ask about potential security risks if the early disruption at border crossings looks set to become more long-term.
