Growing the College | ALUMNI ASSOCIATION


> The MTC Alumni Association grew by 1,053% in FY 2015-2016. Since launching in 2015, the MTC Alumni Association has 2,850 members who are spread throughout the Midlands, South Carolina, and the United States.


> Exemplary alumni, such as the Honorable Judge Tomothy C. Edmond, District Court Magistrate; and Steven M. Ard, Owner of Ard Container Service and MTC student scholarship donor; returned to MTC to speak to students about what it takes to be successful.


Making Lives Better | ALUMNI ASSOCIATION


> MTC selected Joseph “Hilik” Shenkar, Assistant Solicitor, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, as the 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes alumni who have achieved exemplary success in their field. After earning his Associate in Arts degree from Midlands Technical College in 2005, Shenkar went on to earn a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina.


> 15% of all gifts to the MTC Foundation came from MTC Alumni. These gifts provide scholarships, recruit top-level faculty, and inspire our leaders of tomorrow. Alumni gifts to the MTC Foundation have a real impact, assisting students toward reaching education goals that meet the needs of today’s economy.
