Growing the College | STUDENT SUCCESS > MTC welcomed 2,392 first-time freshman and 1,201 first-time transfer students in Fall 2016.
> High school dual enrollment is up 65.9% from Fall 2015. In Fall 2016, more than 500 students registered to take college classes at MTC that also count toward high school credit. Dual enrollment can save thousands in college tuition costs and shorten the time it takes to earn an associate or bachelor’s degree.
> Gamecock Gateway enrollment grew to 420 students. This is the largest enrollment in the history of the program and is a 170% increase since it began in 2011. The first class of Gamecock Gateway students graduated from USC with their baccalaureate degrees in May 2016.

> The MTC Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society was recognized as one of the top 100 PTK chapters in the nation. The MTC chapter garnered seven regional awards and continued its five-star chapter rating, which is the highest rating available for a PTK chapter.
> In 2015-16, MTC obtained renewal as the only VetSuccess on Campus site in South Carolina. MTC continues to serve one of the largest populations of college veterans and their dependents in the Palmetto State. The college's VA Office has consistently exceeded 90% satisfaction ratings by student veterans and dependents over the past 10 years.

Jayda Manning, a graduate of the Richland One Middle College, became the youngest student to graduate from MTC in May 2016. Manning earned an Associate in Arts degree within months of her high school graduation.
