DEAR FRIENDS,
At Midlands Technical College, the 2015-2016 academic year celebrated growing the college, making lives better, and leveraging goodwill.
Thousands of family and friends beamed with pride during commencement when we awarded nearly 2,200 students with academic degrees, diplomas, and certificates, and we applauded as history was made when the youngest student ever received an associate degree from MTC within months of graduating from high school.
We cheered during the opening of the new Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Crafts Center, a state-of-the-art facility that will help develop the manufacturing workforce; and we rejoiced in our academic excellence when 12 MTC Career Programs received 100% pass rates on their licensing and credentialing exams.
We rose to the occasion when the Smithsonian Museum turned to MTC to design and create a tool for a national public service project, and we helped the college dream become a reality for almost 600 students who received academic and QuickJobs scholarships to support their higher-education journey.
At MTC, we are passionate about providing higher education with real value to our students in terms of cost; preparation for four-year and advanced degrees; and hands-on, first-class skills training to fill the in-demand jobs in the Midlands. Just as we are proud of what we’ve accomplished over the past year, we are dedicated to providing innovative educational leadership for years to come.
It is an honor to present the inaugural Presidential Report. Respectfully,
Dr. Ronald L. Rhames '78
