Baltimore, Md.-based The Shelter Group, parent company of Brightview Senior Living, was awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor in the large business category by The Baltimore Sun. Additionally, the company was honored as a Top Workplace for communication. The awards are given based on employee feedback via surveys administered by Energage, a lead- ing research fi rm that specializes in organi- zational health and workplace improvement. Paul Chapman, chief development offi cer for Belmont Village, passed away on Novem- ber 29, 2017. He was on the founding leadership team that launched Houston-based Belmont Village in 1997 and led the development activities for a $2B portfolio of com- munities located in major U.S. markets. Chapman was also a tireless fundraiser and champion for education, serious causes, and senior living trade associations. Belmont Village will honor his legacy by fostering the causes he cared most about.
