Universal Music UK Sound Foundation Grant value: Up to £1,500 Next deadline: 1pm on 11 August Details: To improve young people’s access to music education in the UK and Ireland, the foundation offers a Schools Award for the purchase of musical instruments and equipment. As well as this, teachers can apply for funding worth up to £1,500 to put towards the cost of music training or CPD. Grants are awarded in March and October. Any UK educational institution for pupils aged five to 19 can apply to fund science projects, events or activities directly involving pupils and adding value over and above basic curriculum requirements. Projects need to be linked to physics or engineering, in particular particle physics, astronomy, space and nuclear physics, energy, transport, information and communication, design and promotion, or the built environment. Wesleyan Foundation

The Wesleyan Foundation was set up in 2017 by financial services mutual Wesleyan to support causes important to its members and customers, and their local communities. This year, grants are being offered in central and northern England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland to organisations addressing issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust


Up to £10,000 2 August 2021 The Force for Change Programme offers grants for local projects that reduce social isolation among armed forces communities, and also for initiatives that aid post-Covid recovery. Schools with children from serving Armed Forces families can apply for funding for projects that help engage these children or provide opportunities to improve wellbeing and boost integration. Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation


£250 to £2,000 30 September 2021


This foundation aims to alleviate poverty and improve health, with children being one of the groups it focuses on. Charities (including PTAs or special schools) can apply for funding for a specific project, or to purchase items of equipment. Members of the building society (anyone who works at or has an account with Yorkshire Building Society) can nominate a cause. The IET: Engineering Education Grant Scheme


Up to £5,000, or £15,000 for larger projects

The Engineering Education Grant Scheme supports UK-based educational projects that nurture and develop engineering knowledge among children and young people aged five to 19. Schools can apply, but all applications must be endorsed by an authorised representative of the Institution of Engineering Technology or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
