MEET OUR EXPERTS Summer 2021

So much is in flux right now that it’s difficult to make predictions about what lies ahead – more stormy weather with the possibility of further lockdowns, or blue skies as schools begin to move on from Covid-19.

Possibly the best approach is to expect the unexpected, and work towards keeping a calm and objective outlook whatever comes your way, as Helen Burge suggests in her incisive CPD article ‘Make your own weather’.

Our focus this issue is on how resource-strapped schools can gain from working more closely with businesses, and how you can reach out and get started. Read the inspiring stories of how SBM Kevin Parker has developed reciprocal relationships with many companies (cover story) and how City lawyer James Wickes set up a school programme to increase social mobility in his home town of Dagenham (Partnerships section).

We’ve also looked at how you can raise ongoing funds from passive income streams, plus we feature successful grant bids and crowdfunding campaigns that should spark plenty of ideas for embarking on your own fundraising journey.

Whatever the weather, the team at FundEd hope you have a wonderful summer. Good luck with your fundraising and do get in touch if you have a story to share.
