HYBRID SWEET CORN
Plant seed in no fewer than 4 rows side-by-side to ensure good pol- lination. Plant rows 2-1/2 to 3 ft. apart, spacing about 5 in. apart. Thin early varieties to 10 in. apart, later varieties to 18 in. apart. Get a quicker start in cold soils by boosting the moisture content just before sowing. Soak seeds in distilled water at 77° for 16 hours, then dry at room temperature for 8 hours. Immediately plant! One packet plants about 50-75 ft. of row.
Culture. Hybrid Yellow Types (su).
03907 EARLIVEE. Our earliest 14 row su sweet corn with ear size substantially larger than Early Sunglow. Replaces Polarvee due to its larger 8 in. ear size, bright yellow kernels and improved eating quality. De- veloped in Canada at a breeding station where they really know about early sweet corns. No other extra-early su corn matches the size of this one. Grows well in short-season areas where many common varieties won't mature. If you garden in an area where cool temperatures often present a problem for sweet corn, or just want good eating earlier in the season, this is the one to plant. 71 days. (A) Pkt. (150 seeds) $3.25; 3+ $2.95 each; (C) 1,000 seeds $15.25; 2+ $13.75 each; (AC) 10,000 seeds $105.95.

Everlasting Heritage Type.
A breakthrough in breeding! Trial evaluations have confirmed that the E.H. family is one of the tenderest, sweetest and best eating corns yet developed. The E.H. stands for everlasting heritage genes, also known as sugary enhanced (se). The E.H. gene gives the corn a super-high natural sugar content which makes it hold longer before and after picking (10 to 14 days). E.H. family members can and freeze very well and have great "corn flavor”.
03812 PEACHES & CREAM E.H. All the outstanding qualities of Kandy Korn E.H., but in a bicolor that’s nearly as early as our Early Sun- glow. Big 7 in. ears combine the sweetness of white corn with the juiciness of yellow corn. Very popular for roadside market. Only 69 days. (A) Pkt. (150 seeds) $3.10; 3+ $2.75 each; (C) 1,000 seeds $14.25; 2+ $12.85 each; (AC) 10,000 seeds $95.95.

03807 DELECTABLE (se). You will know where it got its name after your first bite – it’s as delectable as any bi- color corn you have ever tasted. Remark- ably sweet and tender, the big 8 to 9 in. ears have 16 to 20 rows of small, refined yellow and white kernels. Shows wide adaptability with tolerance to Stewart’s Wilt, Common Rust and Northern Leaf Blight. Good husk cover and picks easy from 6-1/2 to 7 ft. stalks. 82 days. (A) Pkt. (150 seeds) $2.95; 3+ $2.65 each; (C) 1,000 seeds $13.75; 2+ $12.95 each; (AC) 10,000 seeds $85.95.
03829 TRINITY (se). Excellent vigor, fla- vor, tip fill, husk cover and early ma- turity. If you are looking for a sugary enhanced bicolor sweet corn that has it all, look no further. Creamy, tender ker- nels burst with superior sweetness at first bite while retaining the "sweet corn" taste lost in many of the newest su- persweet corns. It’s impossible for tasters to tell which are the sweet- est
kernels...the pearly white ones or the bright yellow ones. Highly recommended for roadside stands, farmers markets and home garden- ing. Ears are large considering the early maturity, about 8 in. long, 2 in. in diameter, and filled with 14 rows of tenderness. Stalks grow about 6 ft. tall with ears set up high for easy pick- ing. 70 days. (A) Pkt. (150 seeds) $2.95; 3+ $2.65 each; (C) 1,000 seeds $13.75; 2+ $12.95 each; (AC) 10,000 seeds $85.95.
