Beans - OUR BEST POLE LIMA varieties.
Pole Beans mature later than bush beans but yield more. Plants need to be supported on poles 2 to 3 ft. apart, or on our Bean Trellis (right). Sow seed 1 in. deep about 3 to 4 in. apart in rows. Later thin to 6 to 10 in. apart. A packet contains 2 ounces and plants 7 to 10 poles, a pound 50 to 80 poles.

POLE. The leading large-seeded pole lima bean. The old standard favorite. Vig- orous, reliable grower and heavy cropper, bearing dark green pods 5 to 8 in. long, filled with 4 to 6 large white beans of excellent quality. Shells very easily and cooks well. 01247 WILLOW LEAF POLE LIMA. Fine old heirloom. Heat and drought resistant plants with unique willow-like leaves. Heavy yielding plants bear small, white, flat-seeded beans with a rich flavor. Pods are dark green, 3-1/2 in. long, with 3 or 4 creamy white beans per pod. Espe- cially adapted to the South and warm Coastal ar- eas, but equally adaptable to the North. 90 days. Priced below.
