PRESIDENT & CEO

As I read this issue of FLOURISH, I am energized by the stories of the many ways people have found a home through Landis Communities.

F

or some, home is a physical place to live, like Rob & Gail, who love their new city life at Steeple View Lofts and Mary, who literally came back to her childhood home when she moved to Landis Homes.

For others, they have found “home” in unexpected ways. Jody found a place to be inspired and to inspire others at Landis Adult Day Services. And as a Home Care Aide, Maddie heard the career-affirming words from her Landis at Home client that resonate in her heart as she works toward her nursing degree.

Being home and feeling at home brings a sense of safety and peace that allows space for creativity and new adventures. It also often results in new friendships, like those formed within our collaborative partner, the Lancaster Downtowners. You will love reading about and seeing the picture from their annual picnic!

Cultivating Friendship is the theme of this issue of FLOURISH. New friendships are often formed through Landis Communities, but as is the case for Movita and Arlene, sometimes childhood friends are reunited!

As we continue to foster meaningful relationships and strong communities, Landis Communities is striving to serve more people with diverse needs and interests. I’m grateful to Landis HCBS Board Member, Willonda McCloud, featured in the Why I Serve column, and the members of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) task force who are leading this effort. We look forward to continuing to fulfill our mission and to welcome many more people to a place they can call home.

Larry Zook President/CEO, Landis Communities
