Maddie is quick to emphasize that the relationship she builds with each client is always at the heart of her service. She deeply cares for them as individuals and has a natural rapport with her clients.

Thriving

at Home, Together™

when there has been any sort of change in behavior or mental state. She takes careful notes to document any change she notices so that she can be sure her clients are able to get the support they need as soon as they need it. Tis aspect of her work is particularly helpful with clients who have dementia.

In addition to the benefits of loving her work, Maddie also feels greatly valued and respected by her employer, Landis at Home. “You never feel alone. You always have somebody if you have a question or a concern.”

Being a student is a job in itself, and the leaders from Landis at Home understand that. Tey make it easy and convenient for her to balance work and school by listening to her needs and scheduling her accordingly. Maddie is so thankful for the flexibility. “It’s absolutely perfect for me!”

Maddie describes a pivotal moment when she knew that taking care of seniors was what she wanted to pursue as a career. Maddie had a client who was fairly new to having a home care aide, and Maddie was one of the first to serve her. Maddie shared with the woman that she was in nursing school, and her response was, “You’re going to be so good at what you do… you’re so sweet and so kind.”

Tat moment, and those career-affirming words, still ring in Maddie’s ears and resonate in her heart. She carries them with her to each client, serving them with compassion and delight.
