addie Szili, a Home Care Aide, has been working for Landis at Home for almost a year. Simultaneously, she is a nursing student
at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) and is very excited to be graduating in December 2022. Maddie and her husband make their home in Lancaster, although although he is presently serving in the Army National Guard.
Prior to working for Landis at Home, Maddie was exploring various options for her future nursing career. During this time, she had the opportunity to work in a retirement community, and that experience convinced her to specialize in geriatric nursing. She realized that she appreciates seniors and wants to provide them the best care possible.
Maddie describes her work with joy and tenderness in her voice. She helps clients remember to take their daily medications and assists them with bathing or showering, dressing, and mobility. However, Maddie is quick to emphasize that the relationship she builds with each client is always at the heart of her service. She deeply cares for them as individuals and has a natural rapport with her clients.
Not only does she genuinely enjoy this relational aspect of her work, but Maddie also knows it bears tremendous importance for the client’s wellbeing. By investing in truly getting to know her clients, Maddie is able to see
