Global leader in the sewerage and toilet servicing sector strengthens UK market
ROM UK is part of the Dutch organisation ROM bv, and links up with sister firms Doornbos and AQ Rent under the overall control of the KOKS Group which also operates out of the Netherlands.
The group manufactures a wide range of specialist equipment, ranging from high- pressure water jetting trailer units and jet packs up to high-powered vacuum fleet.
The company is partnered with more than 50 specialists across the drainage and sewerage division, and boasts an order book with customers in 40+ countries across the world.
The new base is located in the North-East of England on Newton Aycliffe Industrial Estate, with its close proximity to the A1 making it ideally situated for customer across the UK.
ROM UK is headed up by Managing Director Steve Buxton, who was at the helm of Doornbos from 2004 before being tasked with taking control of the new division.
The ROM UK depot is based on a recently- opened 65 acre development housing a mix of new and established businesses, with the 3,200 sq ft unit comprising of office facilities as well as a spacious warehouse area which houses a wide range of equipment for sale or rent.
The operation has made a successful start since the keys were handed over at the end of March 2024, and Mr Buxton is confident the company will continue to
flourish as customers and the associated supply chain become aware of the new facility.
He said: “We have a long-running global brand behind us in terms of both reputation and service the ROM bv and the KOKS Group, but ROM UK is essentially a start-up for us as we look to establish ourselves within what is highly- competitive sector.
“We have a good existing customer base through our links with both Doornbos and AQ Rent, and the overall aim is to raise our profile and become the one-stop shop for drainage and sewerage specialists across

“Our depot is fully operational now, we have made key appointments in both sales and admin and the unit is stocked with kit which is available for rent or purchase.
“The fact we are in the UK makes things more streamlined for us to not only have a more accessible relationship with customers, but also to offer support, servicing and training.
“It is an exciting time for the business, and with the foundations already in place from our wider group we are more than confident we can plant a firm footprint into the UK market.”
