Our research focuses on the key drivers of the care home industry, covering occupancy rates, average weekly fees, payroll costs, non-payroll costs and EBITDAR (profit margin). These five measures have been adopted as the Colliers International Key Performance Indicators.


OCCUPANCY RATES


Occupancy rates have shown a small increase in the nursing and specialist sectors over the last year but have remained static for personal care; all sectors remain at 90% or above.

Average weekly fees in all sectors have increased in nominal terms, with the elderly sectors also achieving increases in real terms. The lower fee increases in the specialist sector however, saw fees drop in real terms over the year.
