Colliers International Healthcare acted on behalf the charitable organisation CLS Property Services, to confidentially dispose of a portfolio of 18 homes in the North West. The portfolio provided a well-established platform for an operator or investor to accelerate their expansion plans for growth and immediately increase their target market by c.700 beds in one geographical area. The group was sold to Minster Care in December 2016.

The Colliers team are mandated to act on behalf of a charitable organisation in the highly sensitive sale known as Project Vine. The confidential sales process sits well within the expertise of the Colliers team who have considerable experience in off-market transactions. Firm interest from a number of top care providers has been secured whilst maintaining complete anonymity for the client, residents and staff.


We acted in the highly confidential sale/acquisition of 13 care homes (over 700 beds) based in London and south east England for a private investor for £70m plus. The buyer is a publically listed company and already owns and operates a group of six homes in Surrey, Oxfordshire and Worcestershire. The acquisition increases the size of its combined care home group to 19 facilities. The deal has exchanged and we look forward to announcing further details upon completion of the sale next month.

The Healthcare team secured instructions on the sale and/or lease of a portfolio of twelve care home sites in the South East last Summer on behalf of Frontier Estates; the majority of sites had planning consent for care homes of between 55 and 75 beds, with some having an element of extra care provision. A full marketing campaign was undertaken with key operators and investors targeted. We received ten Expressions of Interest and to date, we have secured deals on nine of them. Six of these have been agreed to one operator, including both freehold and leasehold structures.
