This FdSc deepens your knowledge of human biology and related topics.
Throughout the course, you will study a wide range of subjects, including Anatomy, Human Life Cycle, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Human Physiology. You will develop skills and knowledge across the spectrum of subject disciplines, enabling an understanding of these and other key questions relating to human biology, health and disease.
The assessments vary from essays and presentations to lab reports and exams. Most modules have two assessments during the year as well as a final exam.
PROGRESSION
Successful foundation degree graduates may be able to progress to the final year of the BSc (Hons) Human Biosciences or the BSc (Hons) Biosciences (top-up) degree at the University of Plymouth, or complete their degree at an alternative institution. Please note that there is a deadline for progression applications and places may be subject to availability. Jobs in areas such as biomedical and public health laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, sales and marketing, health development, food quality control and teaching are some of the roles that would suit the FdSc graduate.
