COMMITTEE CRUNCH > Have a Voice at ACCA!

By Melissa Broadus

ACCA is your association, and we want you to have a say in how we develop programs and resources. The best way to get involved with ACCA and have your voice heard is to participate! There are many ways for members to participate in ACCA’s activities:

Attend events. Respond to ACTion Alerts. Share information on the Contractor Forum. But, the best way to get involved (coming from ACCA’s Committee Liaison) is to join an ACCA committee.

ACCA committees give you a seat at the table to share with

ACCA your biggest challenges so that ACCA can work with our experts to develop the resources to help you overcome them. Plus, you also get to be the expert, when you share your best practices and help ACCA develop programs around those so that the entire industry becomes more professional. So, how does this work? Right now, several ACCA committees

are tackling some of the biggest issues contractors are facing. For example, the ACCA Products Committee started a sub-

WELCOME NEW ACCA COMMITTEE MEMBERS>>

ACCA welcomes and thanks the following ACCA members for answering the call and joining a committee:

Membership Committee Eric Grennell, Lakes Region Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Northfield, NH (Co-Chair)

Member Services Committee Aaron Ruddick, Reliable Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning, Seymour, IN

Michelle Allen, Iconnectu, LLC, Sarasota, FL

Events Committee Tracy Parrish, Howell’s Heating & Air, Ashland, VA

committee to address issues surrounding the tax incentives sur- rounding the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). While there are mixed feelings about the overall law within the industry, this sub-com- mittee is diving in and working for ACCA members on the front lines. They are developing Guidelines for IRA Heat Pump Initia- tives, that can be shared and used to create successful heat pump programs that will be beneficial for contractors and consumers. The contractor members of the sub-committee are: Phil Forner, Allendale Heating Company, Inc., Rob Minnick, F.H. Furr Plumb- ing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical, and Eric Woerner, A1 Mechanical of Dayton, LLC. They are supported by ACCA team members Wes Davis, David Bixby, and Ed Janowiak. And, in May, Woerner, who is co-chair of the ACCA Products

Committee, met with Ohio and Indiana state officials to discuss the IRA and how if implemented in a positive way, will help not only the industry but also the provide consumers with a safe and effi- cient heating and cooling system that is cost-effective for home- owners, and profitable for the contractors. These are just two examples of the impact that ACCA commit-

tees and sub-committees have on how ACCA serves its members and develops resources that better prepare them for success. There are plenty of these opportunities, and ACCA is currently

looking for members who want to help us develop our events pro- gramming. If you are interested in joining an ACCA committee or a sub-committee, email accacommittees@acca.org or visit accanow. net/acca-committees.
