SAFETY VIDEO SERIES ACCA launched a new member resource focused on keeping HVACR contractors’ teams safe. This resource is included in all membership levels at no additional cost. The ACCA Safety Series
(
www.acca.org/education/ safety series), taught by Matt Akins, ACCA’s manager of HVACR technical education, provides ACCA members with the opportunity to train their teams on important safety pro- cedures to keep them safe in the field. These videos, combined with daily practice and proce- dures, will provide contractors and technicians with the skills needed to stay safe every day in their line of work. Initial topics covered in the series include:
• Ladder Safety • Data Safety Sheets • Working in Confined Spaces • Fire Extinguisher Training • Electrical Hazards Training
The development of
the Safety Series for members was important to the ACCA team and the ACCA Member Services Committee because keep- ing employees safe should be a top priority for all contractors.
— MATT MARSIGLIO
• Working in Hot Conditions • Working in Cold Weather • Circle of Safety • Distracted Driving
The library of videos will be updated in the future to pro-
vide a fresh selection of safety training for ACCA members. “The development of the Safety Series for members was
important to the ACCA team and the ACCA Member Services Committee because keeping employees safe should be a top priority for all contractors,” said Matt Marsiglio, director of Heartland Academy Operations, Heartland Home Services and ACCA Member Services Committee co-chair. “ACCA is a great source for resources to use during team meetings and trainings and I have relied on them for years. These videos are a perfect resource for all members to use because most of them are five minutes or less. These quick videos that touch on some of the biggest safety concerns all contractors face are worth the price of membership because when we focus on keeping our team members safe, we have less absences due to illness and injury, better work productivity, and we can keep our insurances premiums at a reasonable level by showing we are training on safety and making it a priority.”
To access ACCA’s Safety Series, ACCA members must be logged into their ACCA account. If you are an ACCA member and do not have an ACCA account or do not know if you have an account,
