- son and pumpkin lattes, that means it’s time to think about ghosts, goblins, and other spooky things. Unfortunately the
Legislature and courts have given Boards and Associations plenty of spooky things to think about recently but luckily, just like the little goblins that show up on your doorstep at Halloween, these risk can be managed with the help of knowledgeable Community Managers and HOA industry business partners (but maybe not with a piece of candy).

and our Associations, and this continues to grow.

- homeowners and Board members are obviously included in these numbers and use Facebook, Next Door, Yelp, and other social media to discuss their Associations, both posi- tively and negatively.
Common social media ills such as
cyberbullying, spamming, and identify theft that are down- sides on all social media platforms are concerns for Boards and managers where Associations are involved, with the ad- ditional concern of Board members chiming in on online discussions, which can be a serious problem where Board members are communicating and expressing opinions and Picture a Board member denying or agreeing to a request made on an online message Board, or addressing the con- cern of one owner but not another with a similar concern. Or actively participating in some discussions, but then not doing anything about cyberbullying. Or responding in a way that an owner interprets as abusive.
