Careers
Career pathway to date I joined Accenture six years ago, right after completingmy degree in Accounting & Finance. I workedmainly in credit roles within Accenture at Microsoft, fromthat Imoved to a reporting role which I absolutely loved and learned key development skills which I utilise constantly.
This broughtme to a role in Learning Exchange at Bank of Ireland three years later. My primary role is transforming the learner experience fromthe old to the new digital and personalised world. One of themost recent projects that I have worked on, and amextremely proud of, is co-leading the Cornerstone OnDemand Learning Management System Integration for 11,000 Bank of Ireland learners, which included the rebrand of the learning service.
Ashley Kenny co-led the rebrand of Bank of Ireland’s LearningZone into a fully digitised learning management system.
Breakdown of education and specialist courses After finishingmy degree and having a couple of years working experience in Learning Exchange it gaveme a chance to reflect on where I wantedmy career to go. I decided to do an MBA in Project Management part-time but working full time and doing a Masters was definitely challenging.
Completingmy MBA could not have come at a better time because Learning Exchange decided to rebrand and introduce the new learningmanagement systemto all colleagues at Bank of Ireland. I was able to bring the skills and techniques from the classroomto real life in Learning Exchange, for example managing the relationships between Bank of Ireland and our third-party vendors LinkedIn Learning and Cornerstone OnDemand.
I’mso fortunate to have been able to completemy Masters while working at in a great organisation, with such supporting colleagues aroundme in every role I have worked in over the last six years.
Most challenging aspects of your role I think the way the world is constantly evolving and changing, we at Learning Exchange are always ensuring that training and development is aligned with the business needs. With enhancing technology advancements, a big challenge inmy role is ensuring that all learners have the same user experience on our LMS and ensuring they are our number one focus.
We have become so accustomed to being in control of our own learning - we are constantly Googling things we don’t know, watching a YouTube video to learn how to do something in the exactmoment, even Netflix knows what we want to watch next and I suppose we wanted to bring that empowerment to Learning Exchange and allow our users to be in control of their own learning and personal development.
