EDITORIAL CHANGE
I AMLEAVINGWeldingWorld after six most enjoyable years as Editor. I am going into retirement to enjoy some valuable time with my lovely wife Julie, doing the things we like to do at our age. I have been involved in the welding industry for more years than I can remember and I have many memorable moments to remember. I have met some wonderful people, those with a deep knowledge and understanding of welding, those with a good insight into running excellent businesses and so many with a wonderful sense of humour in a very serious industry. What a wonderful mix of personalities I have met. I amnow going to leave you in the safe hands of Sara
Waddington, who will take over as Editor from the July issue. I can assure you; she is the very best person to be the Editor and will takeWeldingWorld to new levels. Martin Clark
WELCOME FROM SARA...
IT IS A GREAT HONOUR for me to take over editorship of Welding World magazine and work with the AWD team on further developing the magazine. It is an impressive publication and covers the kind of in-depth welding issues that matter in the industry. I have known Martin for many years, in my capacity as
editor of International Sheet Metal Review magazine, and have always admired his tireless support and promotion of the welding industry and the way he has spearheaded the growth of Welding World. I wish him and his wife all the very best for his retirement. I also look forward to hearing your comments on the issues
that affect you and the editorial topics you would like us to cover in future issues of Welding World. Please email your comments and suggestions to
editor@awd.org.uk. SaraWaddington

THE AWD’s 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
SCHWEISSEN UND SCHNEIDEN EXHIBITION
THE AWD owe much to the commitment and professionalism demonstrated by Martin Clark during his period as Editor of Welding World. The AWD Board has enjoyed working alongside Martin, to develop the circulation of Welding World and to enable it to become one of the most read magazines in our industry. Martin has served the Welding Industry well during his many years service to ourWelding Craft and he has often demonstrated his passion and understanding of our industry in the miles of editorial he has created on our behalf. The AWD would like to thank Martin for his vision and the significant improvements he has made, to both content, layout, style and enjoyability of our Welding World magazine. We wish both Martin and Julie a very long and happy period of retirement together. The AWD Board
