New CEO for Joining Technologies Connecticut-based Joining Technologies, Inc., a supplier of laser manufacturing services and systems, has announced the promotion of company President, Dave Hudson, to the position of Chief Executive Officer. The news was announced by the company’s founder and former CEO, Michael Francoeur, who will act as Chairman. Francoeur will steer the company’s investment strategy while Hudson directs its four major divisions. Joining Technologies is an innovator in precision fusion processes, including laser and electron beam welding, laser additive manufacturing and weld system design and integration.

Victor Technologies acquires Gas-Arc Group Ltd Victor Technologies has acquired Gas-Arc Group Ltd, a privately-held manufacturer of gas control equipment based in the UK, for approximately US$ 40 million in cash, subject to post-closing adjustments. Gas-Arc’s portfolio includes branded gas control products that meet specialty gas application requirements as well as cutting and welding equipment for the industrial, laboratory and medical gas control markets. Gas-Arc will continue to operate under its own name.
