MACH EXHIBITION
The biennial MACH exhibition is the UK’s largest event for manufacturing technologies
EXHIBITION SPACE sold for MACH 2014, the UK’s biggest manufacturing technologies’ event, has now exceeded 20,000m2
– surpassing the
same point just before MACH 2012. The visitor promotion campaign for MACH
2014, to be held from 7-11 April 2014 at the NEC Birmingham, is now underway to attract more than the 21,500 visitors from 2012. MACH is owned and organised by The Manufacturing Technologies Association in the UK. Graham Dewhurst, MTA Director General, said:
“I am absolutely delighted with the progress we have seen on MACH 2014 sales. We already have over 500 exhibitors, and this reflects the buoyant market in engineering-based manufacturing. We are all looking forward to April at the NEC.”
An eye on innovation The exhibition features over 6000 tonnes of machinery under power and is held in Halls 4 and 5 of the NEC.
MACH IN VIEW
“MACH truly represents innovation in action
and will again be displaying the very latest manufacturing technologies. The event covers the full range of metal working sectors and, in 2014, will have new composite and additive manufacturing (3D printing) zones. These emerging technologies will be making their MACH debuts and reflect how the manufacturing technologies sector is developing to meet new requirements,” the Manufacturing Technologies Association toldWeldingWorld. Another new feature of MACH will be the UK Manufacturing Zone. This promises to be a great success with space for companies, large and small, to showcase their contribution to the UK’s supply chain strength. This Zone has attracted a number of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to demonstrate the breadth of their requirements. Airbus was the first OEM to confirm that it
would be exhibiting in the Zone and it has since been joined by Rolls-Royce and Messier Bugatti
Dowty. However, the Zone’s real strength will be the capabilities of the innovative small-and medium sized companies on display. “Many companies are returning to MACH
after absences and new players are attending the exhibition for the first time. Also making a debut at the exhibition is a dedicated Zone for Logistics and Materials Handling – the product of a new partnership for MACH with IMHX, the lead show in that sector, held in non-MACH years,” the MTA added. Building on the highly successful Metalforming Machinery Makers’ Association’s Metalworking Village at MACH 2012, run under the long- term contract between the Association and the MTA, the MMMA has decided to extend the size of the Village to include more of its members “The members exhibiting will be looking to
build on their success at MACH 2012 and have therefore increased their space requirements to better demonstrate their latest metal forming machinery and allied equipment.
