Cape Town, South Africa Cape Town is one of the most popular cities on the continent. With an urban national park, a long, glorious coastline and vineyards on its doorstep, the Mother City has as much access to nature and beautiful scenery as it does to world-class restaurants, bars, shops and museums. For active travelers, there’s so much to do without
leaving the city. Table Mountain is laced with trails for all kinds of abilities and fitness levels — and if your clients don’t fancy a hike, they can catch the cable car and be whisked straight to the top for panoramic city and ocean views. There are many excellent museums and noteworthy
historic sites in Cape Town. Robben Island is likely to be on a client’s must-visit list. It’s best known for its prison, which held many anti-Apartheid activists for decades, including, of course, Nelson Mandela. Former prisoners lead the tours here. Being South Africa’s second-largest city and a
popular arrival and departure point for tourists, Cape Town is well linked to the country’s safari destinations. There are safari reserves within driving distance in the Western Cape, but most people will head to more famous Big Five destinations, such as Kruger National Park, to which there are direct flights from Cape Town or transfers via Johannesburg.
