THE ORIGINS OF THE HEALTHY PET FOOD REVOLUTION

WHEN BEATE ROTHON, the founder of Gentle Dog Food, brought home a healthy, happy puppy over eleven years ago she never dreamt it would lead to her establishing cold pressed dog food in the UK. But with her new puppy suff ering from a sensitive stomach, Beate was forced into action. Hundreds of frustrating scripted corporate sales pitches later Beate realised that the UK dog food market had a gap that needed fi lling. A chance meeting with German shepherd breeder, Horst Sitzman, led to her working with a family run cold pressed dog food manufacturer in Germany. The cold pressed food, which is the closest to natural feeding available in a dry food, is the perfect answer to giving any dog a healthy and convenient diet. Beate decided the next logical step was to found her own cold pressed brand, Gentle Dog Food, to not only help her own puppy but also to benefi t every canine in the country. Gentle fi ts so well into the heavily saturated

British dog food market because of its manufacture process. Using only premium

ingredients, which are checked multiple times, and pressing the fi nal mixture at 40-44°C for just a few seconds. This simple change helps to retain more key nutrients, fi bres and enzymes than other dog foods. This all makes for a food that is as natural as possible in dry form. Gentle cold pressed has a very high meat content (46%), is hypoallergenic, gluten free and without any artificial colours, preservatives or additives. But Gentle off ers more than

just a great product, it also off ers an in-depth knowledge of the pet industry. With over a decade’s worth of experience in dog food, and more importantly a close understanding of a process that has been defi ned and developed for over 50 years, Beate is the person to call if you have any questions regarding cold pressed. The founder of the UK’s cold pressed revolution is only a phone call away. 0140 925 1063 info@gentledogfood.co.uk gentledogfood.co.uk
