languages, English is widely spoken by most people on the island. Renting a car is highly recommended as there’s no formal public transportation system. Travellers are guaranteed to enjoy touring around the island, watching the wild donkeys, goats and pink flamingos, and admiring the salt flats that are characteristic for Bonaire. With as many as 60 officially listed dive sites
on Bonaire and another 20 dive sites on Klein Bonaire, the island truly is a divers’ paradise. Diving on Bonaire is a wonderful experience for both new and experienced divers. There are hardly any places in the world like Bonaire, where you can park your car anywhere along the shoreline, put your gear on and walk right in for a great dive, giving divers the opportunity
to choose when and where to get involved. The crystal-clear waters are pool-like, with no strong currents, an average of a 100 foot visibility, and bath-warm waters. All water surrounding Bonaire is protected
and the Bonaire National Marine Park is one of the oldest marine reserves in the world. The healthy reefs and the abundant marine life offer a playground for divers and snorkellers. Divers can spot rays, turtles and an amazing variety of fish species — if you’re lucky, you may spot seahorses and frogfish, too.
