Set between the Río Corinto and Río Coloradito on the edge of Pico Bonito National Park, The Lodge at Pico Bonito occupies one of the most biodiverse corners of Central America. Surrounded by rainforest and backed by the mountains of northern Honduras, the property combines nature-focused hospitality with long-standing conservation and wildlife research initiatives. The lodge sits within a protected ecological
corridor that supports hundreds of bird species, alongside monkeys, sloths, coatis and elusive wild cats including jaguars. More than 400 bird species have been recorded in the surrounding habitats, making this one of the region’s most significant birdwatching destinations. Among those species is the lovely cotinga, an elusive turquoise bird and one of the Neotropics’ most sought-after sightings. Guests often spot hummingbirds, trogons and tanagers from the lodge’s gardens and terraces. Accommodation is spread throughout the
rainforest setting, with private cabins and casitas positioned amid tropical planting and forest trails. Open-air spaces allow guests to experience
the sounds of the rainforest throughout the day.
