www.nitravelnews.com Additional Flare

AN adventure of discovery in both itineraries and culinary exploration, Oceania Cruises has its unique flare under wraps. The additions beyond the standard cruise is why these sailings stand out and invite so many to repeat sail on board;

precision. Prepped and ready to go, you can concentrate on mastering the fun elements of the cooking, minus the ingredient prep and dirty dishes that follow. The whole space feels as though you’ve stepped inside your favourite saturday cooking set, with tv- like presentation from both the chefs and hand-on camera action for full viewing. The addition to flare in this culinary aspect on board is the ability to transcribe it to your shore excursions. Connect your culinary knowledge from the culinary centre as you disembark for the day and explore the destination outside. Enjoy a trademark culinary discovery tour, where your chefs (the same chefs who will teach you the tricks of the trade on board) will take you on a culinary adventure ashore. Engross in the offers within the local markets, dine in Michelin-starred restaurants, or even take authenticity to the next level and

Allura will be no different. Showcasing the ultimate panoramic view, the culinary Center on board is where the magic takes place. As I have already said, this cruise is dedicated to the ultimate foodie, so much so, you can try your hand at recreating some of the extravagant dining delights you have had on board. Head Chef Kelly will keep you right as you explore tastes of the lands in which you visit. Take part as a couple, or at your own pace, and enjoy a laid-back, yet informative, cookery class and take home recipes from your travels. An indulgent lemon pasta washed down with a canadian ginger cocktail and spiced crepes made for an enjoyable afternoon on board. This taste class gave enough insight into how in-depth a full- length course on board would be and highlighted Chef Kelly’s expertise and

Food and Restaurants

LIFE on board can revolve around many things, depending on what it is you are most looking for from your trip. With Oceania, I can guarantee almost every passenger is on board due to the food. Presented with admiration for culinary excellence and fresh-sourced ingredients from destinations in which you dock, Allura’s offering takes innovation and fine-dining to the next level. This is the ultimate foodie cruise. And

no, I am not just speaking of silver platter dining- although this is very much available - I speak of variety, speciality and dedication to high quality eateries, whatever you prefer. A personal favourite of mine during my time on board very quickly became the newest edition to this series ship, Aquamar Kitchen. Fresh ingredients, inviting menus and a feel- good atmosphere- Aquamar becomes the most perfect of lunch spots. Crafting my own salad, with a menu showcasing almost everything you could possibly want, washed down with a pumpkin spice latte provided the perfect alternative to rich meats and high-carb alternatives synonymous with sailing the high seas. Benefits galore and made with your health in mind, Aquamar Kitchen pairs perfectly with a relaxing morning spent at the Aquamar Spa. Of course, once you are ready to indulge in those innovative masterpieces you needn’t look far. Curated by Executive Culinary Director, Jacques

brings French sophistication to the forefront of its dining experience. Set sail without ever leaving the ship and picture the perfect night in France with delicate French favourites at your backing call. Think classic cheeseboard,

steak and

frites, crisp sauvignon blanc, all with an elegant chic. French not your thing? Not to worry! With three other specialty dining

options on board, alongside the grand dining room, you are never stuck for choice. Enjoy the Pan-Asian flurry of Red

Ginger, melding inspiration from Thai, Korean and Japanese cuisine. Traditional takes on travelling favourites paired with hotel-inspired decor - Red Ginger has date night wrapped up. Perhaps Italian is more up your street?

Look no further than Toscana. Here, dine in perfect splendor. Versace china lines the tables which dazzle in the venetian glass around, highlighting the chic, carrara marble. Transport to the fresh fields of Florence enjoy spectacle eats of the valley. Classic Steakhouse Polo Grill is every

meat-lovers heaven, with aged Angus beef combined with hearty sauces, surf and turf options and indulgent tableside accompaniments. A true holiday feel is presented here with dark shutter-style separators,

panoramic windows and

warm lightning throughout. Dine here and cast your mind to the authentic new york pizzazz. You won’t regret it. For those looking for a little bit of everything, why not check out the grand dining room? A great option for those not sure on what to go for, but still want to experience that dine-in feel. Opened for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the grand dining room can be a great option for friends and families, with a vast open seating plan. But do not be fooled- the quality of dining here is to the level of each specialty dining, ensuring all guests get to divulge in the precision of Allura’s culinary skill. Fish, meat, veggie and vegan - there’s an option for you. The beauty comes from the walk-in addition. No need to reserve here; just dine and enjoy! Asian to start, American classic for main and an Italian dessert to top it all off? Now you are talking. All whilst under the shine of its chandelier- filled ceiling, the grand dining room is a great option for all.

Entertainment

UNLIKE its bigger counterparts, Oceania Allura brings big performances to small, intimate venues so each guest can feel truly immersed in the overall experience. Performers of a high calibre take to the stage and ignite the hearts of those who watch through the use of story- telling, song and dance. Never in my day did I expect to experience

one of the best renditions of Danny Boy whilst sailing the Adriatic Sea. Emotive, captivating and alluring. Demonstrating an array of performances to coincide with the sailing itinerary, guests can expect to enjoy sounds of the 80’s, a look through the history of musicals and a taste of the world whilst sat within the Allura Lounge. Elsewhere on the ship, enjoy a night of thrill, yet elegance whilst taking in the atmosphere at the casino. A Monte Carlo Casino at sea. Sip on an expertly crafted cocktail as you try your hand at one of the many tables within the bright space. That excitement of dressing up, enjoying a beautiful dinner and then indulging in the iconic casino lounge lines up the perfect night. Moving from here you will find a multitude

of bars and lounges to see the night through after a busy day. Dance the night away with the backdrop of a live band in horizons, enjoy the sea breeze and the reflection of the pool with something strong over at waves bar, kick back and enjoy the social atmosphere of the Grand Lounge, or perfect your drinks order in Martinis, where a piano backdrop sets the night up.

Entertainment opportunities are endless

on board Allura as she offers a little something for everyone, at whatever time this may be.

Oceania Cruises’ Allura will be making its way from the Mediterranean towards the East coast of the USA to enjoy her winter season. Bookings are open - to plan your next cruise, speak to your local travel agent.
