BELFAST Met student Tyler Murray came out on top at this year’s Travel Student of the Year assessments, held in the NI Travel News Headquarters, Holywood. There was stiff competition from all
the finalists in this year’s assessments, but Belfast Metropolitan College student Tyler impressed the judging panel with his passion for travel, in- depth knowledge of the travel and tourism industry and dedication to his career path.
Tyler will receive his award on stage at the 33rd Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards organised by Northern Ireland Travel News. This year’s awards ceremony will be held on Friday, 10th October in the Slieve Donard Hotel. Each of the finalists were presented
with a framed certificate to mark their achievements in making the final assessments. The four finalists were Celine Hutton from Northwest Regional College, Tyler Murray from Belfast Metropolitan
College, Daryl Hannan Steele from Southern Regional College and Roisin Donegan from Southwest College. Northern Ireland Travel News’ Editor Kirsty Johnston praised the travel industry judges who once again gave up their valuable time and expertise to carry out the assessments.
“The team at Northern Ireland Travel News would like to say a huge thank you to both Brenda Morgan MBE and Sandra Corkin, who spent the morning sharing their invaluable industry skills and knowledge with the students,” she said. “All four finalists are an absolute credit to their tutors and educational institutions. They all demonstrated a passion for travel, tourism and hospitality and I am confident they will all go far in their chosen career paths.”
