ROUTE 66 is celebrating its 100th anniversary this November, marking a century since the road was established back in 1926. Most known to people as the “Main Street of America” or the “Mother Road”, since the road was first comissioned, Route 66 has played a key role in driving commerce and tourism, helping define the American road trip and automotive culture. Stretching more than 2,400 miles from Chicago to Santa Monica, the legendary highway has become a symbol of freedom,

adventure and classic Americana since opening in 1926.

Communities along the route are planning a year- long programme of festivals, classic car events, exhibitions and heritage

that have made

Route 66 a bucket-list journey for generations of travellers.

Las Vegas Grand Prix Set to Continue Until

2037 Following Long-Term Extension FORMULA 1 is set to continue racing in Las Vegas for the next decade following the long-term extension agreed by Clark County officials and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). The Las

Vegas Grand Prix has

accumulated $3.2 billion in economic impact for Southern Nevada following its debut back in 2023. The event continues to make a significant impact in the community with the Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation contributing over $2 million to nonprofit organisations. The contributions created educational opportunities for hundreds of Clark County School District students and local community groups throughout the year. Las Vegas remains as the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World, and the Grand Prix

is known for bringing

together leaders and audiences from across sport, entertainment, culture, and business.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said, “We are thrilled that

Formula 1 will continue racing in Las Vegas for many years to come. Since its debut in 2023, the event has been extraordinary, rapidly establishing itself as a premier destination for great racing, world-class entertainment,

global business leaders,

A-list celebrities and influencers. “We always believed that Las Vegas would become a cornerstone of our presence in the United States, and this extension, together with the success of recent years, reinforces our long-term commitment to this important market.”

Emily Prazer, President and CEO of Las

Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. said: “Securing a 10- year extension through 2037 is a defining moment for the Las Vegas Grand Prix and a reflection of the strength of our local partnerships. “Las Vegas is unlike anywhere else in the

world, and its energy, hospitality and scale have played a major role in shaping what this race has become. This long-term extension allows us to continue delivering a world- class experience for our fans.”

Steve Hill, President and CEO of LVCVA,

said:

“Extending our partnership with Formula 1 for the next decade is a major moment for both Las Vegas and the Grand Prix. “As the spotlight of the world turns to Las Vegas, the event continues to reinforce our evolution as a premier sports and entertainment destination.”

The research highlights how major sporting events have driven the evolution of border management since 2006, with the 2026 tournament demonstrating how security, convenience and technology can work together to create a smoother travel experience.

Gloria Guevara, President & CEO,

WTTC, said: “The FIFA World Cup has consistently demonstrated that border management can evolve from a barrier into an enabler of global connectivity. From Germany’s early focus on visa facilitation to the trusted traveller solutions seen in 2026, we are witnessing the emergence of a new model for travel. One that is digital, secure, and seamless at scale.

“The lessons from these tournaments show that digital identity and strong pre-travel screening can enhance both entry processes and the overall traveller experience.
