allowing Room2 Belfast to soothe us into slumber. Waking up bright and refreshed, ready for a day shopping in Belfast. It was brilliant to know that we didn’t have to face the commute into Belfast City Centre to revel in a shopping Saturday. Instead, it was right on our doorstep! First - it was time to get ready and head

BEHOLD Belfast, a new ‘hometel’ has propped up on the city scene. The new property opened to the public on October 16 2023, and it has certainly made a splash so far. To celebrate the Room2 Belfast’s official opening, NI Travel News was invited down to experience the property in all its glory.
Compared with other properties in Northern Ireland, Room2 is a fresh and newfound concept. Room2 is a concept created by brothers, Robert and Stuart Godwin. The Godwin Brothers are two former rowers, who spent a lot of time in hotels and found that there was a lack of flexibility in the current hotel structure. Seeking the security of a hotel environment,
but
The flexibility of self- catering accommodation, The Godwin Brothers created Room2. the flexibility of self- catered accommodation with the assistance and security of a hotel property.
Room2 Belfast is the fourth property in
the Lamington Group’s portfolio, and it’s first outside of England. Located on Queen Street, Room2 Hometel is right in the heart of Belfast City Centre, the ideal place to stay if you are visiting for the weekend or even for a longer stay in the Capital.
While Room2 is in the heart of Belfast, Belfast is also at the heart of the property. Notes of Northern Ireland are dotted through the furnishings , art, greenery and decoration details, which are all supplied by local artists and suppliers. An appreciated touch as the importance of shopping local has never been more prevalent in society. The reception area is very metropolitan, with a cascading orange staircase that catches your attention almost instantly and a dim-lit bar with an array of cocktails. I checked in slightly later in the evening, the sound of live music welcomed me in the bar
area, a range of hotel guests and locals were enjoying the entertainment. Check in was seamless, with a process that allows you to enter your details early alongside the helpful nature the reception staff, who was very informative about all that is going on in the city.
Checking into a studio, our room was
on the sixth floor of the hotel. The Studio was warm and welcoming, with soft furnishings and space to make arriving guests feel instantly at home.
for breakfast. Guests can avail of a hotel breakfast for a small additional fee on their booking - or you can enjoy the array of different dishes or traybakes available at Winnie’s cafe. Opting for something a bit lighter - we chose something from Winnies, with an order of two Pumpkin Lattes and two traybakes. It was a comfortable dining experience - with friendly staff who were charismatic and informative about the hotel. Even taking the opportunity to talk about the Rosie Lee Tea Room that sits just beside Winnie’s Cafe. You can test out the range of teas on offer from Rosie Lee Tea Bag at Winnie’s or even purchase a flavour of tea yourself regardless of if you are a guest or just popping in for a quick brew. An interesting and quirky addition to Room2 Belfast hometel.
When checking out, all staff
were cheerful and attentive. Rounding up an altogether charming experience staying overnight at Room2 Belfast. Room2 Belfast is packed to the brim with character and charm with the personal details and local touches that make the property glisten.
Room 2 Belfast
is most certainly a welcome addition to Northern Ireland’s accommodation offering. Belfast’s newest hometel reaffirms that whether you are visiting Belfast for a weekend or a week or two - there is always Room2 enjoy your stay.
A personal
favourite for me was the little details throughout the room, such as the box of ‘bit’s and bobs’ that came with puzzle games and a deck of cards, or the shoppers tote that guests who come for longer stays can utilise to pick up groceries or perhaps even a few trinkets. Room2
Belfast flourish in their attention to the little details
that other properties can avoid - a clear indication of the brand’s dedication to combining the desired features from self- catering and hotel accommodations. There are 175 rooms at the Room2 Belfast property, a majority of the rooms come with a kitchenette. However, there are some bedrooms that do not have kitchenette facilities. Fear not, a kitchen workshop is available on the second-floor of the property for guests looking to avail of cooking facilities.
After checking in and familiarising ourselves with our home for the night, we headed into town to enjoy a fabulous meal in the city centre before returning to the hometel to enjoy some of the live music entertainment. For a new accommodation in Belfast, the seating area and bar area was busy, alight with a buzz of Belfast on a Friday evening. We enjoyed a few songs before returning back to our room and
