Your views on the Trust’s next five years
All good organisations need clear plans to guide their work. Cumbria Wildlife Trust is no exception. One of the key responsibilities of the
Board of Trustees is to ensure that we have proper and transparent plans in place to guide our work – and to ensure that the Trust’s purposes and objectives are being delivered. These plans help us to allocate
the precious resources that you, our members, generously give to the Trust. Good planning is critical in making sure that every £1 we receive is spent as effectively and efficiently as possible on the things that you feel are important to achieve the very best for wildlife in Cumbria. Our key document is the Trust’s Five-
Year Plan, the current version of which is due to expire in March 2020. Trustees have, therefore, started to consider what the Trust’s priorities should be between now and 2025.
The next few months will be an
opportunity to review our ‘direction of travel’ and consider whether we need to make any changes to our approach or priorities. In preparing the next Plan, we
will be looking at the challenges and opportunities for nature conservation and people in Cumbria as we go through a period of unprecedented change. We’ll be asking some searching
questions about the state of wildlife and wild places in our wonderful county – and what we need to continue to do or do differently to achieve our vision for a Cumbria that is far richer in wildlife than it is now. In these uncertain times, we need to look carefully at the finances and how we can continue to bring in new resources so that we can do even more for Cumbria’s wildlife. But most importantly, we would love
to hear from you about what you think our priorities should be for the next five years and/or what specific actions you think we need to include in our Plan.
