Children from Distington Community School used music, percussion and chanting to bring their tale of folklore and faeries to life

REGIONAL Outdoor theatre performance

Eycot Hill Nature Reserve was transformed for a day on 20 June when 120 performers shared tales of tropical seas, legends of batling giants, warnings about mischievous faeries, stories of volcanic eruptions, and the adventures of intrepid explorers. The Hill of Dreams was inspired by stories writen by children

from Braithwaite CofE School, Distington Community School, Greystoke Primary School, Penruddock Primary School and St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School aſter visiting and learning about the nature reserve over the course of the project.

REGIONAL Corporate members

The natural environment is no different from your business environment. It needs management, care, expertise and effort to flourish. It also needs investment from people and businesses. Prism Arts worked their tales into a script and directed the

pieces, which were performed by the children along with Prism Arts Studio Theatre group and adults with learning needs from Cumbria County Council’s Edington Centre. The performance was a fantastic celebration of our four-year

partnership with Prism Arts, which was designed to encourage people to respond to the nature reserve creatively and explore the natural world through the arts.
