Inside ICI

Strategic Momentum: Merrin Muxlow to Lead Partnerships and Marketing at ICI

T he Investment Casting Institute

has appointed Merrin Muxlow to lead partnerships and marketing

initiatives—a move focused on delivering greater value to members, expanding access to resources, and deepening industry engagement. ICI has long served as a trusted authority and community hub. In recent years, however, members are increasingly seeking more from technical and trade organizations: more visibility, more collaboration, and more practical tools to address today’s challenges— from workforce development to supply chain complexity. Muxlow’s mandate is to meet these needs head-on. A marketing strategist with experience across industrial technology, nonprofit development, and early-stage growth, Muxlow brings a member- centric approach to this project. Her priorities are clear: make ICI’s offerings

easier to access, ensure that content and events reflect member needs, and connect participants—whether foundries, OEMs, or suppliers—with relevant opportunities and partners. Early progress is already visible: Technical courses have seen increased demand,

reaching capacity. Increased interest in the upcoming AM4IC Symposium. Members are beginning to access

new resources, including guidance and stipends for apprenticeship programs. Collaborations expanding the range

of programs ICI can offer, from joint events to grant-backed initiatives. The updated marketing approach is,

above all, about clarity: making it easier for members to understand what ICI offers, how to participate, and how to benefit. It is also about amplification— ensuring that the work being done by and within the ICI community is seen,

shared, and celebrated. Trade organizations like ICI occupy

a

unique position in the industrial ecosystem. They are neither vendors nor regulators, but conveners—capable of connecting firms across the value chain, aggregating technical knowledge, and advocating for collective needs. As Muxlow puts it, “The goal isn’t to change what ICI is. It’s to help members get more out of what it already does— and to open doors to even more.” For members, the result will be tangible. More access. More visibility. More support.

And a stronger,

more connected investment casting community.
