PENTASTAR AVIATION AWARDED CERTIFICATION FOR HONEYWELL DU-875 LCD

COCKPIT SCREEN UPGRADE Pentastar Aviation, an authorized Honeywell dealer, adds seven additional airframes to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved model list supplemental type certificate (AML-STC) ST04194CH for certification of Honeywell’s DU-875 flight-deck display upgrade. The airframes include: Cessna 550, 560 and 560XL; Cessna 750; Dassault Mystere-Falcon 900 and Falcon 900 EX and Learjet 45 series. The DU-875 is a form- fit, plug-n-play LCD upgrade that will replace the soon-to-be obsolete DU-870 CRT displays found in older aircraft.

“The DU-875 is a low-risk

upgrade increasing display reliability, resolving obsolescence issues and contributing to reduced cost of ownership,” says Jesse Beard, Pentastar Aviation’s Avionics and Engineering manager. “This offer provides brand- new equipment and a growth path to Primus Elite with enhanced features (charts, maps, XM Weather) and advanced features (SVS) on several of the platforms through additional software and hardware upgrades.” The FAA certification of the

aircraft by Pentastar Aviation’s avionics team will benefit aircraft owners, as the LCD display is significantly lighter than the older display, providing weight-reduction and fuel savings. The LCD display units can be replaced individually or as a complete suite. Honeywell is offering a $40,000 trade-in incentive per display replacement until December 31, 2017. The Pentastar avionics team has decades of experience providing industry-leading avionics system integration design, STC development, and service and maintenance on the

DUNCAN AVIATION’S LINCOLN, NE, FACILITY WELCOMES NEW

SAFETY SPECIALIST Duncan Aviation announces Nick Hansen has accepted the safety specialist position at the company’s Lincoln, NE, facility. The position is integral to ensuring the safety of Duncan Aviation team members and clients. Hansen relies on the leadership skills he developed in his nine years in the United States Marine Corps to help team members see the value of safety issues. Hansen joined Duncan Aviation in 2012 as a return-to-service inspector I (RTS), and he worked with the Installations and Fabrications departments, inspecting parts and installations for supplemental type certificates (STCs) and major repairs and alterations (MRA) projects. As an RTS, Hansen’s job was to ensure conformity to design data and verify product quality. When he transitioned to RTS II, Hansen performed required inspections on flight-critical systems for multiple departments, and he coached other inspectors, helping develop their regulatory knowledge and promoting continued improvement in the levels of quality.
