Celebrities from the world of art, wine and gardening will be among special guests when Saga’s river ship Spirit of the Rhine makes its debut in March 2021. DJ Johnnie Walker, cricket commentator Jonathan Agnew, ITV news frontman Alastair Stewart and former BBC political journalist John Sergeant are lined up to entertain passengers during its inaugural year. The 190-passenger vessel is on sale now with prices that include wine, beer and soft drinks with meals, plus at least three excursions. It will sail various cruises on the Rhine, Moselle, Main and Danube rivers. A flower-themed sailing in April will see a guest appearance from former Garden Force presenter Charlie Dimmock. There will also be an autumn Rhine cruise reserved for solo travellers.

Tui is counting down to the launch of its new river ships, Tui Isla, Tui Maya and Tui Skyla, at the end of March. Aimed at the British market, the ships will be sailing adult-only cruises on the Dutch and Belgian waterways, Rhine and Danube. A seven- night cruise in the Moselle Valley departing March 29 starts at £900; all prices include flights, drinks with meals and £120 cruise credit per person for excursions.
