ONBOARD
ENTERTAINMENT Instead of theatres and entertainment teams, purpose-built expedition vessels have lecture rooms, plus experts in everything, from geology and penguins to whales and ice, to host talks and trips ashore. Entertainment might
come in the form of hiking in Spitsbergen, a Zodiac cruise to glaciers in the Arctic, or kayaking in Greenland. In Antarctica, they make sure passengers do not disturb the animals or go beyond the set boundaries. Scenic Eclipse brand manager Martin Solly says: “The Discovery Team plays a vital part in the expedition cruise experience with their lectures and presentations, plus shore visits that give passengers a greater understanding of the places they are visiting.”
