Azamara has christened its fourth ship, Azamara Onward, in Monte Carlo. The 684-berth vessel joins sister ships Journey, Quest and Pursuit. The former Renaissance R-class ship is almost identical to its sister vessels except for new experimental bar concept Atlas, which has replaced the ship’s library. Onward will set sail on a 155-day world cruise, calling at 75 ports in 40 countries, in January 2024 – a first for the line.

Queen Anne to sail to Lisbon
Incoming Cunard ship Queen Anne will set sail on its maiden voyage from Southampton to Lisbon on January 4, 2024. The new vessel will be joined by Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria for
the first time on its return to its UK homeport, following the seven-night inaugural sailing. Prices start at £1,299 per person. The details were revealed as Cunard released a programme of 110
sailings between October 23, 2023, and May 14, 2024. The expanded four-ship fleet will call at 126 ports in 51 countries, with cruises ranging from two-night city breaks to a 108-night world voyage. Queen Anne is scheduled to call at 32 ports during its maiden season.
The ship will operate in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and northern Europe as well as operating a transatlantic crossing.

Ambassador Cruise Line has launched renamed vessel Ambience at a ceremony in Tilbury. It is the first new British cruise line to enter the market for more than a decade. Chief executive Christian Verhounig said: “Launching in a pandemic shows how strongly we believe in the future of cruise.”

EMERALD CRUISES: Emerald Cruises’ latest Star ship set off on its maiden voyage last month – an eight- day Holland and Belgium in Bloom river cruise. The 180-passenger Emerald Luna features a three-tier atrium and a heated swimming pool that transforms into a cinema. Luna will be officially christened in Amsterdam on July 21.
