Oceania Cruises is set to revamp its Riviera and Marina ships over the next 18 months.
Every cabin on the vessels will be “reimagined” and public spaces will receive “a refreshed colour palette”, according to the line.
Fred Olsen fleet to reunite
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines plans to bring all four of its ships together in Funchal, Madeira, next year. The vessels – Bolette, Borealis, Balmoral and Braemar – will come together as part of four separate itineraries for the ‘Fleet in Funchal’ reunion in November 2023. Passengers will be given the chance to explore the other ships while they are docked in port during a quayside party. Up to £400 onboard credit will be added to passengers’ accounts during the cruise, depending on their cabin grade. Three of the ships will begin journeys directly after the Fleet in Funchal event: Bolette will operate a 15-night Spain & Portugal cruise, Balmoral a 15-night The Canary Islands voyage and Braemar a Discovering Cultural Morocco sailing. Borealis will complete The Azores cruise ahead of the reunion.

Distillery creates unique rum for P&O ship Arvia
P&O Cruises is to collaborate with a Jersey-based distillery to create a rum exclusive to its fleet. The Tidal Rum, created by Shorts Boy Distillery, infuses cask-aged rums from the Caribbean with pepper dulse, a seaweed known as ‘the truffle of the sea’, and will be produced and available on P&O’s new ship Arvia. Arvia’s onboard rum distillery is the first on a cruise ship.

The ship has two decks of its signature 200sq ft Panorama Suites and two 300sq ft Royal Suites. There are also 16 172sq ft Deluxe Staterooms. Guests gathered on the banks of the Danube as Avalon View’s godmother, US TV personality Meredith Vieira, formally blessed the ship by smashing a bottle against its side.
