Sunvil introduces Greek island with 30 beaches
Sunvil is promoting packages to the Greek island of Skyros, which it introduced this year. The largest island in the
northern Sporades is largely untouched by developers and boasts 30 “unspoiled” beaches, according to the operator. It includes historic sites and
is the resting place of Rupert Brooke, the Great War poet who wrote The Soldier. The island offers hiking trails in forests in the north, while the south is home to miniature wild horses, which are an endangered species. The capital Skyros is home
to a Byzantine monastery, archaeological and folklore
museums, and a Venetian castle. The island is reached via
a short 40-minute connecting flight from Athens. Trips offered by Sunvil include
seven nights’ self-catering at Yiasemi Studios, from £973, based on two sharing, including flights from Gatwick in May. Seven nights’ B&B at Antigoni Hotel starts from £1,079, based on two sharing, including flights from Gatwick in September.
