Ryanair adds five routes from Stansted and two from Luton


Ryanair has launched its biggest-ever summer schedule from its London airports: Gatwick, Luton and Stansted. The budget airline is this


summer offering 200 routes, including seven new services. Stansted gains new links


to Basel, Dubrovnik, Sarajevo, Tirana and Poprad-Tatry, serving the Slovak resort of Poprad, while Luton adds Treviso and Palma. Ryanair will base two new


Boeing 737 aircraft in London, bringing the total to 56. The budget carrier said this


represented an investment of $200 million and will create more than 150 jobs. It predicted its passenger numbers from the London airports would grow this year to more than 30 million, up from 27 million in 2023. ryanair.com

Tui confirms plans to host 14 ‘immersive’ fams for agents

Tui UK & Ireland will take almost 200 independent agents away on educational trips this year. The operator has confirmed it will host 14


trips as part of its ‘Tui Wanderlust’ initiative. Agents will be able to sail on a Marella cruise,


travel with Crystal Ski Holidays, take a Tui Lakes and Mountains trip or experience a Tui main beach destination. The first trip, to Cape Verde, is in March. The company’s trade relations support team, headed


by trade relations manager Hayley Vaughan, has focused the trips on Tui concepts and the customer journey. The trips will contain minimal hotel visits,


allowing agents time to immerse themselves fully in the concept so they understand what makes a Tui holiday so special, according to the operator.


UK specialist Caledonian Leisure buys 67-room Blackpool hotel


Domestic operator Caledonian Leisure has acquired a popular Blackpool hotel for an undisclosed sum as the second property in its portfolio, following its purchase of the Claymore Hotel in Arrochar, Scotland, last year. The 67-room Liberty’s Hotel joins the Caledonian Collection and will be rebranded as the Caledonian Tower Hotel. caledonian.com
