Commission: Set aside
Story: Furlough: ‘Extension of scheme is welcome news’ Really good point about ‘don’t assume commission is yours until client has left’. Having paid back £3k in the last 3 months, I will be putting any money I do get aside – although hard when I need money to live! Andrea White

The best of your letters, comments and social media this week Bookings: No surge until April
Story: Trade pins hopes on surge in sales at turn-of-year Sorry, but I fear the earliest “good” demand will appear will be April. Why will customers book early with the fear of quarantine disruption hanging over them and difficulty in getting a cost-effective, pre-departure, Covid-19 test, which many destinations are likely to require? Obviously, I hope I am wrong, but better to plan for the worst. Steve Endacott, Rebound Consulting
Flash Pack: This hurts sector
Story: Flash Pack to be revived after pre-pack deal People who behave like this make it more difficult for the whole travel industry in terms of retaining merchant services, getting credit from suppliers and banks, and regaining consumer confidence. It’s not illegal but it’s highly immoral. If you’re going to go bust, at least do it with some dignity.
Olly Brendon, founder,
AttractionTickets.com Q Travel Weekly would welcome a response from Flash Pack
Courtney: Sad day
Story: Newcastle-based travel agency ceases trading What a sad day. Courtney Airsavers was one of my first clients back in the late 90s and always great to deal with. When a business like this throws in the towel, it clearly shows the severity of the times travel faces now. Kenny Picken, founder, Traveltek
kerry_l6 @kerrylakey7 Savannah Travel What a few days. Positive news on the #USAelection2020 and now this [Pfizer potential vaccine]. We can see a return to closer to normal soon and we can get travelling again. #LightAtTheEndOfTheTunnel
Steve Ody @SteveOdy 20% increase in airfare for flights to the US next year. Price of the pandemic on aviation clients? Would like to have got a refund but the airline would only give a voucher to use against new flights #bigcon
Pole: We’re here
As we prepare to close again, we are still available to book your holidays, so phone or email us. We will back in store on December 3. Pole Travel
