Z Vicky Billing is to join The Travel Corporation as head of UK trade sales for Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Costsaver and Luxury Gold on November 18. She will move from Royal Caribbean, where she is head of retail north.


Z Hurtigruten national explorer manager Danny Giles and national events and sales manager Maria Ersmarker are to leave the line in a shake-up of its sales team. Hurtigruten has created two replacement roles: trade partnership manager and on-the-road business development executive.


Z The Travel Network Group has hired James Neal as head of external marketing services. Neal joins from Avios where he was senior marketing manager. Marketing director Si Morris- Green left TTNG in February.


Z Lusso Travel has recruited Lucy Ellingham from Kuoni as business development manager as it expands its on- the-road sales team. She will be based in the southeast.

Royal spearheads relief effort in wake of Dorian

Watching the suffering unfold in the Bahamas as Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc spurred the boss of Royal Caribbean Cruises to spearhead an industry-wide relief effort. Te death toll climbed to 50 on


Monday as the extent of the damage, caused by the category five hurricane, which pounded the archipelago for 48 hours, was assessed. Reports suggest the number


of dead could rise as thousands of people are still missing in the Bahamas. About 70,000 people are now in need of food and shelter, the United Nations said. Within hours of the hurricane


moving north to the US last week, Royal Caribbean Cruises ships sailed in to the Bahamas, providing 20,000 meals a day for the rest of the month, generators, cleaning supplies and clean sheets. It also contributed $1 million to the relief effort. Chairman and chief executive
