Bakehouse


Artisan bakery Kayu Bakehouse has announced it is set to open its first UK site in London’s Mayfair. The French-inspired bakery was founded


by Dubai-based head chef Karim Bourgi, who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Paris in 2000. He was previously responsible for the opening of La Maison Du Chocolat Paris and the Hermès Paris Café in Dubai. The Bakehouse will feature golden spider


marble furnishings that have been imported from Greece to create a luxury setting. It will also offer a selection of sweet treats crafted by “a patient, meticulous person who enjoys working in a very detailed, systematic way”, which is the definition of the word kayu.
