THREE DAISH’S GROUP HOTELS UP FOR SALE
The Dining Room restaurant at the Goring hotel in London is set to reopen in March following a multimillion-pound redesign. The five-red-AA-star hotel’s flagship restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2016 and has been led by executive chef Graham Squire since August 2019. It is currently closed for the
refurbishment, which is being overseen by Russell Sage Studio and will honour the history of the hotel. Upon completion, the restaurant will also feature a new state-of- the-art kitchen and a custom-built chef’s table for up to six guests. The Goring was opened by Otto
Goring in 1910 and is now one of the few luxury properties in London to be owned and run by the family that built it.
EXPANDED ROLE FOR MARK JARVIS AT HOTEL GROUP
Paddington closed on 20 January after its lease came to an end. Knight said Incipio continued
to look at new opportunities, including “a new Pergola by the end of the year”. “We’re just looking at where that
could be in London, so we’re quite excited about that,” he added. He said the group was also
working closely with the landlord of a new development to “create new concepts”, with further announcements due in 2025.

Yorke, is set to open Cardinal on Eyre Place. The restaurant will offer a
13-course evening tasting menu and a shorter lunch menu. Dishes will highlight Scottish
produce with ingredients cooked over a wood-fired barbecue. Ben Mansour, former bar
manager at Skua, will oversee the restaurant as general manager while Skua chef James Aikman will be sous chef.

Mark Jarvis has taken on the role of culinary director at the Signet Collection boutique hotel group. He joined the business last September as executive chef at the Mitre hotel in Hampton Court in East Molesey, Surrey, and now also oversees the Retreat at Elcot Park in Newbury and the Barnsdale in Oakham, Rutland. Jarvis’s role has included
developing the menus at 1665, the riverside brasserie at the Mitre, as well as the hotel’s Boathouse bar. The chef trained at Belmond
Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire and won the

Daish’s Group has put a quarter of its portfolio on the market for a combined guide price of £6.65m. The assets include the freehold
of Barrowfield hotel in Newquay, the freehold of County hotel in Kendal, and the freehold of Daish’s Blackpool, which are available individually or as a trio. George Brown, managing
director of Daish’s, said: “While we will be sad to see such great assets go, and it is with a heavy heart that we put these on the market, we will continue to expand the Daish’s portfolio, looking for hotels that we feel offer a better fit for our customers.” Daish’s Group was founded with
the purchase of Daish’s hotel on the Isle of Wight in 1979. It has since grown to 12 hotels in 10 UK resort destinations.
ENNISMORE CONFIRMS 2024 UK HOTEL OPENINGS Ennismore has confirmed opening dates for two new UK hotels, Hyde London City and the Hoxton, Edinburgh. The seven-storey Hyde London City will launch in the middle of 2024 in a Grade II-listed building on the Old Bailey in the City of London. The 111-room property will feature a modern Turkish restaurant, as well as a subterranean cocktail and record bar. Meanwhile, the Hoxton will launch its first Scottish property in Edinburgh in the middle of 2024. The 214-room hotel will feature an open lobby, an Italian restaurant, event spaces, and the brand’s first aparthotel offering.
