Background Natalya grew up in double-landlocked Uzbekistan, where she dreamt of seeing the ocean. This dream eventually led her to a career in the cruise industry, where she held roles at Holland America Line and Princess Cruises before taking up the position of Seabourn president in March 2023.

Visiting unique locations without compromising on comfort is the primary motivation for the line’s expedition cruises, discovers Isobel Turner

Affluent travellers want to truly connect with cultures and expedition cruising helps to create unique cultural immersion

Q

What are your current views on the expedition cruising industry? Expedition is a very important part of what we do at Seabourn. Right now, the segment is clearly growing, and I believe that’s

because affluent travellers are looking for more unique experiences. Not only do they want to see places, but they want to truly connect with the cultures, and I think expedition cruising really helps to create that unique cultural immersion. Destinations that can only be reached on an expedition cruise offer the best of both worlds – both outstanding nature and local human history.
