Intrepid explorers should consider the Galápagos – so rich in natural wonders it will leave any visitor awestruck
the east, the Amazon river has achieved something of a mythical status and entices many travellers with its promise of superlative landscapes and fascinating experiences. As they journey along the river on a cruise – Seabourn and Aqua Expeditions both offer Amazon itineraries – adventure seekers will come face-to-face with the region’s wealth of biodiversity, ranging from pink dolphins and spider monkeys to várzea forest and jungle canopies. As well as spotting seals, whales and penguins from the comfort of their ship, guests can get even closer to the action in kayaks or Zodiacs, venture beneath the surface in a submersible or perhaps take the plunge with a (supervised) jump into the polar seas.
