W HOLLYWOOD Los Angeles, US
LOCATION: Marriott Bonvoy’s W Hollywood hotel is located in LA’s movie heartland on Hollywood Boulevard, just yards from the iconic Walk of Fame that honours more than Ó]nää wlm >n` mÕÃiV ÃÌ>Àð Ƃ Ì>Ýi oÀ ÃhÕÌÌli LÕà vÀom Ìhi airport takes about 45 minutes. The Pantages Theatre and Fonda Theatre are both a two-minute walk from the hotel, while Universal Studios Hollywood is three miles away.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I was immediately struck by the property’s lavish interior design, described as “old Hollywood glamour through a modern lens”. The reception overlooks lush green velvet seating in the Living Room – a lobby-cum-dining area framed by a vast curved staircase and home to a dramatic bar, above which hangs an array of translucent golden-yellow acrylic rods. Check-in was welcoming and quick and I was soon directed to my room, a ë>VioÕà 7 -ÕiÌi on Ìhi ££Ìh yooÀ ÜiÌh v>LÕloÕà ViÌÞ ÛiiÜð
THE FACTS: W Hollywood reopened in October 2024 after a $50 million-plus upgrade that sought to transform it from º«>ÀÌÞ» Ìo ºlÕÝÕÀÞ»° /hi hoÌil ovviÀà Σ9 ÃÌÞliÃh Àoomà >n` suites, a serene courtyard garden and a high-spec gym. The design revamp, led by the Rockwell Group, includes unusual features such as mirrored frames with blue and yellow eye-like designs, and cinema-inspired ribbed-glass li}hÌ wÝÌÕÀið

Breakfasts were a particular highlight, with options ranging from oatmeal cereals to delicious French-style omelettes and tasty burritos, though the dedication to quality meant these meals could not be rushed. Other facilities include meeting rooms and a games room.
IDEAL FOR: W Hollywood would suit anyone interested in culture and design, and those seeking a good base from
