• Did you like the poem? What was your reaction to it? Did you think it was happy or sad or violent, for example? What was the tone of the poem?
• From your reading of the poem, what impression did you get of the poet’s character?
• How do you feel the issue being discussed affected those in the poem and what do you think might have happened as a result?
• Why do you think the poet feels the way he or she does? • Write a letter to the poet, telling him or her what you thought of the poem. • Write a piece saying why you did or did not like the poem.
