• Option Two: The Playboy of the Western World by J.M. Synge, Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, Some Like It Hot (directed by Billy Wilder)
You should select one option to study.
Each option contains a summary of each of the three texts, called What’s the story?, and a guide to studying the texts in relation to the prescribed modes for 2020: Hero, Heroine, Villain, Theme and Social Setting.
What’s the story? is designed to improve your knowledge of the events and characters in each text.
The guides to Hero, Heroine, Villain, Theme and Social Setting will help you to prepare to answer questions on the exam paper. They demonstrate how to explore the texts in relation to each mode and also how to compare and contrast the texts with one another. Each section contains a past exam question on each mode.
